Classroom Jobs

I found this amazing classroom job resource and wanted to share it with everyone! I am adapting the jobs and descriptions to fit my classroom but this is amazing. Mrs. Hines and Ms. Fritz have created a Job Application for their "Classroom Economy" that students have to apply for their jobs and be hired. I love this idea! Take a look! Behavior Plan Overload

I know that it is the middle of the 2nd nine weeks but I have decided to take a step back and redo my behavior plan. Going into the position in EB/D I had ideas of what I wanted my classroom management to look like and I thought about many different things. However, at the beginning I was shown the system that was in place at the school and thought that it might be easier on me and the kids if I stuck with it. It is a great behavior plan but it isn't working the way I want and need it to. Part of that could be because I haven't really jumped on it all the way, probably because deep down it isn't exactly what I want in MY room. :) Over the past few of weeks I have done a lot of thinking, a lot of wondering, and a lot of planning and I am ready to get things together MY way. I am a great teacher, that is why I was hired for the position I am in. I am getting a lot of things done with these boys- but I could be doing so much more. I don't need to compare myself to anyone in a competition aspect. I need to look to peers and mentors for guidance in the right direction but I have to take the steps I choose with MY own feet, and follow MY heart. I love finding ideas from other teachers and advice. I am now learning to take it and make it my own. :) I have attached the new daily bahvior sheet and a draft of my management plan. If you like any of the ideas please beg, borrow, and steal! :) It's the teachers' way of life. Please leave me comments with any suggestions or ideas you have! Thanks a bunch! Let's See How This Works!

I have decided that I am going to try to blog about the things I am trying in the classroom to give myself a way to jot down ideas and look for suggestions maybe! :) (As well as vent here and there) I have found myself addticted to Pinterest and love all the ideas from other teachers on their blogs so I am going to attempt to do the same in case I can help anyone else out in the process! I try to be very creative with the things I create for the classroom, especially since the students I work with need all the motivation they can get.
I teach students that have Emotional/ Behavioral Disorders in 3rd- 5th grade. These students (which I have all boys this year) need a teacher with thick skin for those off days, a quick mind for the on days so she can take advantage of oppurtunity, and a huge heart all the while to show them that someone cares no matter what name they call you when they are upspet or how much you they tell you they hate this "stupid class." These kids care the most I have come to realize, and when they get upset it is because they think they are disappointing someone they care about. I absolutely LOVE the position I have been given and I am going to do anything and everything I can to make a difference in these students' lives, because they definitely make one in mine.
